Between the aftermath of World War II and the economic boom, the territory of the Ambrosian Diocese, and particularly the city of Milan, underwent a remarkable transformation. Over three hundred new churches were built, reflecting a period in which sacred architecture became a laboratory for experimentation by some of Italy’s most influential architects.
Incomplete Itinerary is a collective photographic research project carried out by twelve students of the Architecture Photography course, led by Alberto Sinigaglia. The project investigates a selection of twenty-four contemporary churches located across Milan, Varese, and Pavia, documenting their material, spatial, and symbolic dimensions through the photographic medium.
