Formiche giudiziose is born with the purpose of examining the concept of control tools, creating short circuits that prompt reflection on the individual. The supermarket, a symbol of consumerism since its inception, has brought with it a strong idea of contact and trust for the new Italy. Seen as a metaphor for change, it is a place with a recognized significance that writes and defines a formula, followed by a precise behavioral pattern. The same pattern that defines us as a massified society.
The project represents a reflection on the society of consumption and control. We create a space that relates the supermarket to new technologies. We reflect on their methods of application and their way of predicting and disciplining human behavior, applying criteria of analysis and measurement within footage from yesterday - sourced from the archive of Istituto LUCE - in a specific aesthetic that blends various sources of visualization and representation.
